About Us
Kono Consulting was founded in March 2000 with the goal of providing mid-sized companies with the business based, managed business software consulting services typically available only to large organizations.
Prior to Kono, the core team were members of a leading global accounting and consulting firm’s middle market consulting practice. This background provides the basis for Kono’s cohesive teamwork, structured approach and management consulting perspective.
Kono combines the strengths of a large consulting firm with flexibility, resourcefulness and efficiency demanded by the mid-market.

Tom Battelle
President
Tom’s experience includes over 18 years of information technology consulting and participation in over 40 implementation projects.
He is certified in several products and technologies, including both Dynamics SL and Dynamics GP. Prior to Kono, he launched and
built the San Francisco Bay Area Middle Market Technology Consulting Practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). At the time of his
departure from PwC, he was responsible for top line revenue for the Middle Market Technology Consulting Group’s primary business
systems consulting services in all US service markets west of Denver.
During his career, Tom has honed his skills through hands-on delivery and management of a wide variety of technology related projects for companies ranging from Fortune 500 to pre-revenue start-ups. His understanding of business application systems, structured methodologies, advanced technologies, distributed environments, technical human resource issues and business risk provides the necessary foundation for ensuring the effective delivery of diverse, mission critical technology projects for companies of any size.
Tom received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Middlebury College.
Yolande King
Solutions Manager
Yolande has more than 15 years of accounting and financial software management experience that she brings to the Kono team.
Yolande's career path started with numerous corporate accounting positions where her interests quickly turned to focus on the management of the accounting system, other business applications, system integrations, and creation of custom applications to improve business workflow. As a Controller, she managed accounting protocol and procedures, audit and reporting requirements, and the development of financial analysis metrics. She has been directly responsible for the restructuring of organizations’ departments, motivating a team of employees, continual process improvements and software implementations.
Her experience is an excellent blend of both client and partner knowledge of Great Plains ERP software, system integration, systems analysis and software transitions. As an implementation consultant, she has worked in a variety of industries including Software/Hardware, Distribution, Publishing, Education, Construction, Professional Service, and Biotech.
Yolande graduated from Hayward State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
Judy Clarke
Operations Manager
Judy brings more than 24 years of financial consulting experience and 13 years of Great Plains experience to the Kono team.
Her business experience extends across the public and private sectors, including 5 years with Deloitte & Touché in the audit and tax departments where she practiced as a C.P.A. She left public accounting to join the financial implementation consulting industry. In this role, Judy has participated in the implementation of Great Plains ERP software for over 100 companies including Apple Computer – Tokyo R&D Division, The Hewlett Foundation, Looksmart, Petstore.com, Round Table Pizza, Shutterfly, Peet’s Coffee and Tea, Jamba Juice and The Oakland Athletics.
Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in project management, systems analysis, process flow, and systems integration. Judy has strong team building and leadership abilities, providing her with the skills to make a major contribution to our consulting team.
Judy graduated Magna Cum Laude from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
